Home learning is about having an active role in the education of your child. Providing opportunities to teach and inspire children. Within early years home learning is at its most important, children are absorbing information all the time which means there are so many missed opportunities. It is important that families feel connected to early years settings in order to work in collaboration.

Nursery observations provide an update on the development of each child and often provide a next step for children. Settings that use an online app will send these observations to parents who will be able to read the next steps put in place for their child. This enables parents to think of ways to support their children reach their development goals. For example, If their next step was to ‘make simple structures with blocks’ the families would be able to encourage games with blocks and other stackable toys. This creates an immersive education experience with relative goals at its heart.

Step Start complete parent seminars, this is where families come in to the nursery to openly discuss issues they are facing or to learn about the best ways to support their child’s development. Sharing issues such as behaviour or fussy eating can support every family by providing tips and tricks or discussing things that have helped others before.
